beware the vegans
On Saturday night, we went to see the Pretty Girls Make Graves and Death Cab show. Is this a match made in indie heaven or what? As I've expressed before, I love, love, love Ben Gibbard's voice (when is the Postal Service gonna tour again?). Needless to say, the show was pretty awesome (although quite frankly, the Fillmore show was better). However, I must add that there might be a contributing factor to my bias. You see, we had general admission tickets, and we arrived just as Pretty Girls took the stage. We were able squeeze within thirty feet of the stage, but everybody was packed in pretty tightly. Our vantage point of the band was decent... more than decent but at some point, we began to notice an odor. Not just sweat, not just stinky feet, not just dirty carpet, not just weed smoke, but something much worse. I even checked my shoes at some point to make sure I hadn't stepped on anything. Zack actually had to step out to escape. It wasn't something we noticed only once... it sort of permeated throughout the entire show. Zack suspected that it was the indie vegan chick in front of us. I think he might have been right - she was bouncing around an awful lot.
