For the love of Bob Loblaw, Franklin, nevernudes, Gobias Industries, loose seals, girls w/low self-esteem, stew, Steve Holt! and uh, analrapists

Please! Watch Arrested Development! Its doom is very near. So just watch it, and tell everyone you know to watch it. You won't be sorry. I promise. Unless of course, you suck.

Serenity Now!

Did you think I forgot? C'mon, you knew my little Whedon-worshipping Buffyphile geek heart wouldn't let this weekend slide without a review.

Of course I saw it, and of course I loved it. The Whedon trademarks are there - strong character interaction, witty banter, badass heroines and a compelling plot. Bad makeup and cheesy effects, also Whedon trademarks, abound as well. You can't really blame him, as it appears that they were working with approximately the same budget they did for the TV series. But as I learned with Buffy, that stuff became peripheral, since the storytelling and the dialogue more than made up for it. Whedon borrows from lots of recognizable pop culture archetypes with glee, making a mash-up of Bonanza, Blade Runner, Star Trek and Star Wars. The Federation has become the bad guy, Han Solo the captain, Trinity second in command, Chandler the pilot and Gimli the security guy. The end result is fun, twisty movie with a unique vision of the future that takes daring dramatic risks.

So, if you like scifi, chicks kicking ass and adventure, go see it already! I want to see that my boy makes good.

I can't wait for Wonder Woman.
